What sets renewable energy apart from alternative energy sources is that it may or may not affect the environment in some way. They come from continuously replenished sources, including sunlight, wind, water, and geothermal heat. They are inexhaustible and renewed all the time.<\/p>\n

3. Biomass<\/h4>\n

Biomass refers to renewable organic matter and can include material derived from living or recently deceased organisms. For example, biomass fuel comes from corn.<\/p>\n

4. Biodiesel<\/h4>\n

Biodiesel comes from plant oils, are is usable in diesel engines. Manufacturers typically used Grapeseed Oils, Waste Vegetable Oils, or Animal Fats, all of which are replenishable.<\/p>\n

Studies show that renewable energy impacts the economy of the countries on the African Subcontinent positively. It also reflects that we are not exploring the possibility of renewable energy sufficiently.<\/p>\n

The Importance of Renewable Energy<\/h3>\n

The need to depend on renewable energy is compelling. There’s no denying that reusing resources benefits the environment and the economy.<\/p>\n

1. Environmental Impact<\/h4>\n

First of all, renewable energy sources are replenishable. Therefore they have little impact on the environment<\/a>. They are not finite and will be available for future generations.<\/p>\n

2. Creates Jobs<\/h4>\n

Also, most energy providers use renewable energy resources to build and maintain facilities instead of costly energy imports. They make investments within their countries, so it creates jobs to service the local economy. Furthermore, countries export these resources, so they boost the country’s trade deficit.<\/p>\n

3. Constant Energy Supply<\/h4>\n

Having a continuous energy supply means that nations can depend less on foreign energy sources. Decreased dependence will affect the energy policies of countries positively.<\/p>\n

8 Innovations That Could Change Our World<\/h3>\n

Companies have come to realize the importance of renewable energy. Therefore, they have come up with inventions<\/a> that will reshape our lives in positive ways.<\/p>\n

1. Robots that Install Solar Panels<\/h4>\n

First of all are robots, which are much better than people in repetitive tasks. They are also more precise than we are. Robotic assistants will help us to build photovoltaic or thermal solar farms faster than we can.<\/p>\n

2. Huge Wind Turbines<\/h4>\n

The effectiveness of wind turbines depends on the surface areas covered by their rotor blades. The bigger they are, the more wind they can generate. Massive ones will help us to procure the energy we need.<\/p>\n

3. Grid-Scale Batteries<\/h4>\n

Grid Energy Storage<\/a> is another viable renewable energy solution. Grid-Scale Batteries are safe and reliable. They can run at high temperatures, which means that they won’t break down quickly. Also, they don’t produce greenhouse gases and have little or no fuel costs. They will operate at sunny spots or on a rooftop in the city.<\/p>\n

It also helps us to avoid over-operating resources. For example, we often have high winds when there is little need for them, and no wind when there’s little need for it. Grid-Scale batteries enable us to tap on resources when we need them and store them when there is no need for them.<\/p>\n

4. Wave Power<\/h4>\n

Another source of renewable energy that people often overlook is wave power. Think of it as the cousin of wind and solar energy. It’s hardly around at family reunions.<\/p>\n

Wave power is a source of clean energy, and governments are doing their parts to encourage it. The US Federal Government granted US-based technology company Ocean Power Technologies a 35-year license to operate a 1.5 Megawatt Wave Farm.<\/p>\n

5. Residential Solar Power<\/h4>\n

Residential solar power is costly. Few people can afford it, even if they knew that it saves them money in the long term. Power companies such as Solar City, the biggest solar installer in the United States, avail solar panels that keep power costs down.<\/p>\n

6. Software that Operates WInd Farms Efficiently<\/h4>\n

The wind serves us well, and we can squeeze more out of it by making windmills bigger. Positioning them well will also help us get more out of this resource. Putting a wind turbine in an ideal spot will enable it to generate more electricity over many years than if it operates just anywhere.<\/p>\n

7. Optical Furnaces<\/h4>\n

The solar industry is becoming more efficient than ever at producing solar cells. Doing so is now cost-friendly and efficient. Solar manufacturers have now optimized their factories and supply chains. One breakthrough is the use of optical furnaces to heat the silicon substrate used to make panels. It reduces the amount of energy used by half.<\/p>\n

8. Easier Rooftop Installation for Solar PV<\/h4>\n

The labor costs for the rooftop installation of solar panels are costly. It also takes longer than it should. Innovations help greatly. Companies are now developing standardized brackets that decrease the number of steps needed to install solar panels. An installation crew can install more solar systems in a day.<\/p>\n

How to Conserve Renewable Energy<\/h3>\n

We should never overlook the importance of renewable energy. Everyone can protect our energy resources. Here are some ways we can help.<\/p>\n

1. Managing Water Resources<\/h4>\n

First of all, we can protect water, the most abundant natural source of sustenance in the world. Roughly 70.9 percent of the Earth’s surface comprises water, and only 1% of it is for human use.<\/p>\n

Our water usage<\/a> is phenomenal – the average American uses about 300 gallons of it daily. Tapping on just the water you need goes a long way to conserve it.<\/p>\n

2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle<\/h4>\n

Recycling used items<\/a> can be a better alternative to disposing of them. It also prevents pollution; the careless disposal of plastics, ceramics, and glassware could have severe consequences for land and aquatic life.<\/p>\n

3. Mass transport<\/h4>\n

Vehicles use fossil fuels to move around. Reducing the number of individual cars will decrease fossil fuels used as well. Not everyone likes the idea of shared transport<\/a>. Hybrid vehicles that use alternative energy, such as butanol and ethanol, are a suitable option.<\/p>\n
