When you\u2019re younger, you don\u2019t put much thought into how life is going to be in your 80s or 90s. No, those years don\u2019t really pass through your mind.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re younger, you\u2019re looking for pleasure, building on your dreams, even when they\u2019re extreme. But the sad part about this is that everyone forgets how life is short. We completely forget that one day, we will be at the end of that life, and there will usually be some unfinished parts that we have no time to put together.<\/p>\n

Paying respect to some regrets.<\/h2>\n

There are many regrets<\/a>, unfortunately, for those who have entered the winter of their lives.\u00a0 So, to help you understand, I\u2019ve included a few examples of the elderly who wished to share their advice with Facebook and with the world.<\/p>\n

And not only what they regret, but what they wish for the younger generation to know and consider. If we listen, we can accomplish some of the things they wish they had done before the winds of winter arrived.<\/p>\n

Advice for younger people<\/h3>\n

1. John, age 92<\/strong>, states that younger people should enjoy every moment of their lives<\/a>. This means, even in the hard times, it\u2019s important to find the good in those situations as well. Because there is always good somewhere if you keep looking.<\/p>\n

\"John,<\/p>\n

2. Dot, age 82<\/strong>, says that\u2019s it\u2019s so important to take care of your body from an early age. Try to stay as healthy as you can. Eat healthy foods, exercise, and get outside, would be my guess of living a healthy life.<\/p>\n

She also says, in a respectful manner, that a person shouldn\u2019t rush to engage in intimacy with another so soon. Life provides plenty of time for that.<\/p>\n

\"Dot,<\/p>\n

3. Ruth, age 87<\/strong>, wants us to remember how important it is, to be honest. Telling the truth is so rare in today\u2019s society. It\u2019s even become normal to just casually lie to each other, and sometimes for no reason at all. For the younger generation, learning to be more honest will build integrity which can pass for the following generations.<\/p>\n

\"Ruth,<\/p>\n

4. Les, age 94<\/strong>, One of the most important things for the younger generation to understand is that financial security will become harder and harder to attain the longer you live without it.<\/p>\n

Financial security doesn\u2019t just mean having a lot of money, it all means, having investments set up, good insurance, and plans for your offspring in that area as well. Then plans to teach them the same principles.<\/p>\n

\"Les,<\/p>\n

5. Joan, age 90<\/strong>, This beautiful lady says never forget your goals and ambitions, and follow them. What\u2019s the point in having dreams about life, and not being able to go after those dreams? Yes, some things may hinder those dreams for a while, but when things happen, and they are over, get back to work on your passions in life. Never waste what you truly love.<\/p>\n

\"Joan,<\/p>\n

6. John, age 83<\/strong>, If you\u2019re given an opportunity, maybe one of a lifetime that can change everything, says John, do not waste that offer. Never squander the good blessings that life hands you.<\/p>\n

No matter how busy, no matter what other people want, you take that opportunity and you make something of what you\u2019ve achieved. Remember, there could come a time when it\u2019s too late to follow those offers.<\/p>\n

\"John,<\/p>\n

7. Doreen, age 85<\/strong>, Always be kind to everybody, says Doreen. The reason why she sees this as important, and I agree, is that you don\u2019t know what others have been through.<\/p>\n

Do you know how some people can be rude or unkind? Well, it\u2019s not because they are bad people. It\u2019s because they have been through things we may not understand. They could be angry, hurt, or bitter. So be kind, it could just be what they need to get past some things in life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Doreen,<\/p>\n

We\u2019re always learning from the best<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re all born, and we all die, so what happens to us in the middle? Isn\u2019t that a loaded and interesting question?<\/p>\n

I have spent much of my life raising three children, married and divorced a few times, but when I look into those times, I see much of the inspiration and dreams lost in the hustle and bustle. Yes, I am happy I had my children, and I love them with all that I have. I also realize there is so much I wish I could do before my life is over.<\/p>\n

I think these wonderful people, John, Doreen, Joan, and the others that shared their advice on Facebook<\/a> are wise. And that is because they\u2019ve lived their lives and understand where the importance lies. Maybe they have attained the things they were looking for, but I\u2019m sure, like all of us, there are a few regrets.<\/p>\n

So, I say, let\u2019s live life as best we can, and let\u2019s definitely leave as few regrets as possible, and many more memories of success and happiness instead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
